MTV to Debut New It-Girl Reality Show
Ever since Lauren Conrad announced that she’d be leaving The Hills to pursue other things, we’re sure MTV has been scrambling to find themselves another star. They brought Kristin Cavallari on The Hills for the next season to stir things up, but it looks like they’re also introducing another twenty-something star to compensate for their loss in the new reality series, House of Jazmin. Jazmin Whitley is another young, fashion-obsessed LA-dweller, and the MTV cameras have been following the 20-year-old’s every move as she attempts to make it in the fashion world by designing her own clothing line, called Li Cari.
The trailer for the show has debuted, and the TalkingShopping girls don’t even know what to think. As if watching a vapid, spoiled Tinseltown brat treat her family like slaves and have meaningless conversations with her look-alike BFF, who has equally disastrous hair, weren’t torture enough, we hopped on to her clothing line’s website, and suddenly felt badly for all fashion houses for MTVs careless use of the word “house” as it applies to high style fashion. Basically, the House of Chanel, the House of Balmain and the House of YSL would be none impressed with the House of Jazmin… to say the least. However, a trailer’s only a trailer, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Jazmin, in all her “famous for being famous” glory became the next Lauren Conrad… best selling “book” and all. Oh yes, and in case you care, the show premieres August 18th – that’s next Tuesday.
